Re Purposed Maps

 Last weekend while attending the Makers Faire, I saw these cute origami photo albums by Tami Jo Studios. I purchased a kit being the craft person that I am, and downloaded the instructions from her website when I arrived home.  I have been having fun making these photo albums, art journals. So when my friend Don was getting rid of a book of old maps.

I had to ask for it. He gave me this quizzical look and I just smiled. The paper is lovely and a nice weight.
as soon as I was home my paper cutter was out and I cutting up pages.

 Re purposing the maps to cover my art journals.

I decided to use raw silk yarn to tie them, I love the way my new art journals turned out.
